ORDER: -
In the G.O. 1st read above
orders were issued that the Government have provisionally
identified the ‘Osmania University’ Hyderabad as State Agency for conducting of
State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) in the interest of larger number of aspirants
for recruitment as Lecturers / Assistant Professors through the direct
recruitment or by promotions in University and Degree Colleges in the State.
2.
In the letter 2nd cited, the Registrar (FAC), Osmania
University, Hyderabad has requested the Government to constitute Steering Committee and Moderation
Committee to obtain accreditation from the University
Grants Commission, New Delhi for conducting of State Level Eligibility Test
(SLET).
3. In
the letter 4th read above, the Secretary, Andhra Pradesh State
Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad has
informed that the UGC guidelines stipulated that the following composition for
Steering Committee and Moderation Committee should be constituted for
conducting SLET:-
1) Steering Committee :
(i)
Chairman
( to be appointed by the Government)
(ii)
Two
Vice-Chancellors of the concerned State Universities in rotation (to be
appointed by the State Agency i.e. Osmania University)
(iii)
Two
academicians not below the rank of Professor (one from Science group and one
from Arts Group) (to be appointed by the State Agency i.e. Osmania University).
(iv)
State
Government representative (to be appointed by the Government)
(v)
Member
Secretary of U-CAT (UGC Official) (to be appointed by the UGC) ( U-CAT means
UGC Committee on Accreditation of Test)
(vi)
Member
Secretary (of the designated agency) ( to be appointed by the Government)
He should not be below the rank of
Register/ Controller of Exams / Professor. In case of a Government agency, the
Member Secretary should be not below the rank of Deputy Secretary;
2) Moderation
Committee:
(i)
Chairman
of the Steering Committee (Chairman of the Steering Committee)
(ii)
State
Government representative (to be appointed by the State Government)
(iii)
Two
Professors of the different State Universities in rotation (to be appointed by
the State Agency i.e. Osmania University)
(iv)
One
Professor from outside the State ( to be appointed by the State Agency i.e.
Osmania University)
(v)
One
Nominee of the U-CAT out of two nominated by UGC (to be nominated by the UGC)
(vi)
Member
Secretary (UGC Official) U-CAT, UGC
(vii)
Member
Secretary (State agency) (to be appointed by the State Government)
He should not be below the
rank of Register/ Controller of Exams / Professor. In case of a Government
agency, the Member Secretary should be not below the rank of Deputy Secretary;
4. The Secretary, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad has further stated that the State
Agency i.e. Osmania University has the authority to constitute the two
Committees i.e. (i) Steering Committee and (ii) Moderation Committee with other
Members and the Members appointed by the Government and submit its report to the University Grants Commission, New
Delhi for getting accreditation status to the Osmania University, Hyderabad for
conduct of State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) and issue necessary orders in
the matter.
5. After careful examination of the matter, the
Government hereby appoint the Chairman,
Member Secretary and one representative of the State Government to the Steering
Committee and Moderation Committee as detailed below:-
(i) The
Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University, Hyderabad as Chairman of the Steering
Committee and Moderation Committee.
(ii) Prof. B.Rajeswar Reddy, Department of Applied
Geo-Chemistry, Osmania University, Hyderabad as
Member Secretary to the Steering Committee
and Moderation Committee.
(iii) The Director/ Commissioner of Collegiate
Education, A.P. Hyderabad as
State
Government’s representative on the Steering Committee and Moderation
Committee.
6. The Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University,
Hyderabad, shall take further action to constitute the Steering Committee and Moderation
Committee with other Members accordingly.
